Couple things in the last 6 months I've been with Fido pay as you go.
-During the summer months I was charged for long distance rates for incoming and outgoing local calls. When I first discovered this was happening, I was told that it was a small glitch....even though it ate my $20 voucher in less than 2 days. I had sent over 20 texts since the last call was made and was told this by the fido rep:
he has no ability to look past last 20 transactions, and if I wanted to look past 20, then my lawyer would have to contact fido security team.
-This continued for 2 months, finally after over 8 hours spent in customer service calls something was done about it, was refunded money by someone extremely helpful who looked past my last 3 months of transactions for overcharging.
-Its been 2 weeks since that problem has been solved and now I have another one, my text messages will not send, but I am being billed for them. Called, and rep said that its not their problem because they are being sent outside fido network.
Tried using firend's bell mobility phone to send an international text to same destination and there were no issues for the person receiving. Thus its a problem once again with Fido, also 2 weeks ago before the texting seized to operate, the person receiving my international text informed me that a strange uk number was showing up as the sender.....
This has got me thinking that fido might be using same technique that long distance cards use, which relay from local to local numbers over long stretches to cut the cost. this is just a guess, but of course customer's wont see any cost saving from it. After that, my international texts just don't work.
Does anything work well with Fido???? Besides the fact that they take your money like clockwork?
Finally, I've noticed over the last 3 months something fido seems to do on a regular basis.
If you call support after 8:00pm and the support closes at 9pm, you will be put on hold. The automated message will tell you there is a high call volume and say the wait is anywhere from 15min to 30 mins. (try it, if you call just before 8pm you'll get a rep almost immediately)
Anyways, if you try to wait, they'll have you on hold past the 9pm mark at which point they are closed. You will never get a service rep, and the worst part is, the first time this happend I was hold for an hour and a half.....at around 9:30pm the automated voice shouted at me in french (i dont speak french) and then hung up on me.
Their customer service is the worst, but to all people with Fido, please please please double check your bills and what they are charging you for your calls....use their site to check before making a call and time it.
Dont ever sign up with FIDO they are terrible if not already the worst!
/end of rant
