for municipal, provincial, and federal elections, I would like to see the election terms in increased from 4 years to 5 years. I would also like to see internet voting. :) :cool:

Municipal was 2 year terms not that long ago in ON and cities and towns werked a lot better.

I think 4 years is about right. it takes that long to get anything done. More than that is when the arrogance and sense of entitlement begin to set in. It might be good if government changed every 8 years before corruption becomes firmly ingrained.

I would support term limits for sure.

The big change I would like to see most is the gold-plated pension packages. It is one of the biggest line-items in the budget but seems to never be open for reduction. The fact these people get a retirement income far above the median income for working folks for only a few years of serving in govt is ridiculous. We need to bring it more inline with what private sector pensions look like. My sister was 27 years in the military and her pension is not much above the poverty line while Harper is set to receive $600k/yr plus full benefits for only 10 years as PM.
