Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, the wife of King Charles III's brother Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, met the President of Peru José Jerí on Friday.
Peru’s Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela and the British Ambassador to Peru Gavin Cook were also present at the meeting.
The Duchess’s visit is part of British and Peruvian discussions promoting environmental and social causes.
Her stop in the capital Lima forms part of a wider British tour of South and Central America, which also includes visits to Panama, Guatemala and English-speaking Belize.
