I vote for the least evil.

I voted for Jean "what's wrong with pepper spray, I like Pepper" Chretien twice. If I wanted to live in a one-party nanny state I would move to Cuba.

well since I've already had my fun...

FYI the "convention books" issue is not about policy, its about funding and accounting practices and its already blatantly obvious even from the trickle of information so far that there are expenditure entries missing from what's been officially filed with Elections Canada by the CPC.

While the federal government's lack of fiscal manoeuvring room is currently constrained, its financial situation is still extremely healthy compared with that of its peers and it is on track to reduce its debt burden faster than expected, Mr. Drummond said.

we can all thank the Bank of Canada and the municipalities for that.

pity about the inheritance. I look forward to watching Harper taking a bow without the DOF Visa card in his back pocket.

BitWhys are you trying to say that a huge surplus of unspent money is good?

Hello!!! It is better to appropriate every penny and have a balance of 0.

that's zero left at the end of 5 years which means that grocery list Harper has left unattended to this point has presently achieved the status of EMPTY PROMISES.

cue the hidden agenda. snip snip.

I haven't heard about the accounting problem relating to convention books...sounds like peanuts to me. Don't you remember Stewarts billion-dollar boondoggle, the billion-dollar gun registry, the sponsorship scandal? That's big money not peanuts.

only $1.8M directly into the party coffers which in the faithful's mind will undoubtedly be peanuts since it propped Harper up. but its not the faithful that are going to get him that majority he needs to get before his colon goes spastic. and if they find discrepencies there they'll be checking out the Reform Party's books as well.

wonder if those names Harper's been hiding all these years will eventually make it into evidence. that would be a nice bonus.

What is the alternative to Harper? Go back to the Lberals before they even have a leader? Let harper do his thing, It'll be good for Canada.
Democracy can't work when there is only one party.

oh my my

OTTAWA (CP) - Trade Minister David Emerson says the Canada-U.S. softwood deal might not make it to a vote in the Commons.

Emerson says that if the provinces and lumber businesses don't agree with the deal, it won't be put to MPs for a vote.

The Conservative government has warned that the trade deal would represent a confidence motion that if defeated would bring down the government.

The minister was defending the deal at a Commons trade committee.

The deal to end the longstanding trade dispute on softwood lumber has faced widespread criticism from industry and provincial governments.

Hope Rona's been doing her homework.
