According to the New York Times, "President Vladimir V. Putin, meeting with Russia's defense officials and military commanders here, said today that the country would soon deploy new nuclear missile systems that would surpass those of any other nuclear power."

This is scary stuff, at this rate we're going to have to set up the Doomsday Clock again. http://69.36.186.201/doomsday_clock/timeline.htm

I doubt there would be a reignition of the cold war. But it doesn't stop there. There's gotta be a plan behind this move, if you think about it for a few minutes... or look at it in a different light.

Russia's economy is bankrupt, so why would they want more nuclear power? God knows. :?

Here we go again. What the hell, I spent my entire life with the sure knowledge that we could all get blown up at any second. Been there, done that.

Where the hell is my flying, nuclear powered car? These bastards made some promises when I was a kid...probably to make us feel better about the fact that they were likely going to kill us all. Before they build any more bombs I want my flying car.

Somebody call Vlad up and tell him that's non-negotiable. We can deal over the robot maid, but I get the car. No more bombs until I get a flying car.

This scares me more, to see who it is behind this particular new madness. He looks like an absolute nut job.

My car would be cooler though. I have one of those creepy doll-heads with the eyes that open and close on the shifter.

You'd need it for luck, passing through the mushroom cloud.

Actually the interpretation of the second amendment, the right to bear arms, that makes the most sense to me is so the people have the means to rise up against their government should that government become tyrannical.

Private ownership of missiles would be encouraged under that interpretation. Private ownership of handguns wuld be another matter...what good is a cheap handgun against a missile being fired from miles away?
