WASHINGTON - Democrats wrested control of the Senate from Republicans Wednesday with an upset victory in Virginia, giving the party complete domination of Capitol Hill for the first time since 1994, as NBC News reported that Democrat Jim Webb was the apparent winner.

Webb’s apparent squeaker win over incumbent Sen. George Allen effectively gave Democrats their 51st seat in the Senate, an astonishing turnabout at the hands of voters unhappy with Republican scandal and unabated violence in Iraq. Allen was the sixth Republican incumbent senator defeated in Tuesday’s elections.

The people have spoken loudly. Like Bill Maher said, Karl Rove is wearing some egg. He took that party to the far right. Now it's only the far right that are in their camp.

At least Bush had a sense of humor today.

Great work by Howard Dean to bring about this long overdue needed change. It's time that we patriots take back the USA from the corrupt, treasonous, right wing, warmongering, plutocratic elements. This is step one in that process. More is to follow. Much more.

Also note that Dems took over many governorships and state legislatures. This is VERY sginificant but has been overlooked by national and international media.
