Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has quite rightly said that former BBC news reader Huw Edwards, who has pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children, should pay back the £200,000 he was paid by the BBC whilst he was suspended by the corporation in November 2023.

A mural dedicated to Edwards in his hometown of Llangennech, Carmarthenshire, has been permanently erased. A plaque at Cardiff Castle has been removed. Edwards awaits sentencing.
