This lounging bear is taking the Internet by storm
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach is known as a destination for relaxation, but a bear is getting a lot of attention in one neighborhood of the Florida community after the animal was caught on camera hanging out in a backyard hammock.
“Check out the bear in my neighbor’s yard, Tell me this isn’t funny,” neighbor Vincent James can be heard saying as he films the video clip.
The bear has been spotted several times in the area since Wednesday, looking for food and tearing through trash cans. But James caught the bear kicking back in his new hangout spot after the animal clambered into his neighbor’s hammock.
“He got in the hammock like he was a tourist or something,” said James. “Then something spooked him and he ran right back there. Then half an hour later, I come back and I saw there he is in the hammock again.”
The person who owns the hammock has since taken it down.
Others who live in the area say they’ll be more careful with their trash so this bear doesn’t make their backyard his new favorite hangout.
