Actually, I think a Conservative-Bloc alliance might be a good thing, seeing that, while I'm neither a federalist nor a sovereignist, I do support many Bloc ideas myself. Yet not being Quebecois, I can't vote for them.
Yes, the Conservatives and the Bloc do agree on giving more money and power the the provinces, so they could work with that. IT won't be four years, as a Con majority is unlikely, but they could get some positive things done.
Notwithstanding their stance of Québecois sovereignty, I too support many of the principles of the Bloc Québecois — if only I could say the same about the Conservative Party of Canada! Oh well.
I would predict that any sort of agreement between the Bloc and the Conservatives would not, however, be able to last for four years; once the Tories begin advancing their endeavours to "roll back" progressive social legislation from the previous Parliament(s), I could foresee the confidence of the Bloc Québecois rapidly evapourating.
If the CPC wishes to lose credibility as a federalist party they will not work with the bloc. If they do next election they will lose all there gains in the East as Ontario and other provinces are strong federalist regions.
If they work with the bloc you miles while call the CPC the Reform party..
I have the Minister on the other line, he says Hell has not frozen over yet but was pretty close to.
haha
I think we can both give Harper enough credit that he won't work with the bloc. Though I think the media will have to keep a close eye on him. to make sure he is being watched and won't have temptations. lol
