De Zoysa will only be released from prison once he is dead
Cop killer Louis De Zoysa has become just the 65th person in England and Wales sentenced to spend the rest of their life in prison.
De Zoysa, 25, has been found guilty of murdering Metropolitan Police officer Matiu Ratana, 54, during a drug stop using a 128 year old handgun (handguns are also illegal in England and Wales) and bullets which De Zoysa made himself.
De Zoysa's defence claimed that his autism affected his behaviour.
De Zoysa fired four shots during the incident in London on 25th September 2020, the fourth of which hit accidentally hit an artery in De Zoysa's neck, leaving him in a wheelchair with communication difficulties.
Accordingly, judge Mr Justice Johnson told De Zoysa he will never see the light of day again...
