Conservatives are ahead in CPAC polls

CPAC has nightly polls done by Nik Nanos at SES Research.

This is as of last night.

You heard it here first. As of last night, the CPAC-SES Election Tracking - Conservatives 34%, Liberals 32%, NDP 20%, BQ 11%, Green 4%. Although still a statistical tie, this has to be considered a big psychological breakthrough for the Harper-led Conservatives. Of concern to the Liberals should also be the fact that the percentage of Canadians who think Paul Martin would be the best PM has dropped to 27%, only four points ahead of Conservative Stephen Harper (23% best PM).

Excellent news for us westerners. The west will finally have a say in Canada and we will no longer be forced to live by the rules of the east!!! Stephen Harper will be our PM and Canada will see a new day.

I think you're right, It's going to be good for the West, but good also for Quebec as it will surely reinforce and promote sovereigntism and at last break up this far-too-big impossible country. Harper is exactly what Quebec soft nationalists need to finally wake up.

But I can't get over the religious aspect of him. What's the point of introducing a more unregulated free market economy and privatization if he's going to also introduce Christian moralistic influences which go against people's individual freedoms to make certain choices.

Don't worry! Harper won't get a majority government. He won't be able to legislate at will. If he tries to change the law on controversial issues like abortion, his government will fail and fall. And we're going to get new elections within 6 months.

The cost of what? We are socialists,
I'm quite positive that when we have our own country, alot of industries would be nationilised. Right now, either they can't because its Ottawa's juristiction, or because NAFTA forbids it. At any rate, we will be able to decide our own destiny, in this crazy messed up world.
