A computer glitch was causing delays for Air Canada flights across Canada early Friday, an official said.
Around 8:30 a.m., Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick said the source of the technical problem had been identified and it was expected to be fixed shortly.
The computer glitch, affecting check-in and reservation processes, began around 4:30 a.m. ET. Several hours after the problem began, officials reported that the problem had been fixed but later said the situation had changed.
Other airlines were not affected, but the problem caused long lineups as flights were delayed, especially at the country's busiest airport, Toronto's Pearson International.
"It's totally chaos out here. There are hundreds and hundreds of people in lineups that are absolutely going nowhere," said Catherine Clark, a CBC producer with Marketplace who was waiting for a flight.
Little information was being provided to customers, she said.
How has this affected you?

This has effected me greatly. By clicking on the link and reading the story I have lost my train of thought and have gone from the intellectual class of the left to the bumbling buffonery of President Bush and his Conservative ilk. At least I still can speak properly.
