A few days ago i got a couple of virus (the ie antivirus and antivirus 2008 xp). So i have to run the computer in safe mode with networking. But the problem is that when i scan for viruses it finds the antivirus 2008 but after a while the i turn the monitor off because im waiting for the virus scan to finish but when i turn it on during the middle of my virus scan the screen is blue with white writing that says something like the file is damaged or not properly installed re-install new products, if this keeps happening run in safe mode system must restart.NOTE: this only occurs when i do a virus scan and my virus scanner is spy sweeper.

How to: get rid of ie antivirus virus

How to: get rid of antivirus 2008 xp

I always recommend people have a live Linux cd so they can go into the C: directory and delete files that otherwise can't be deleted. This way you can kill any program. If you try while windows is running the application often will hide in memory or a temp file and rewrite itself once you have cleaned it with anti virus.

yes it does it in safe mode and there is this file in my regedit called abnormal shutdown which i dont think should be there (virus probalby put it there) could u check your registry and see if it is there.

I once had a nasty virus that I eventually removed with a program called VundoFix. It was scary because it worked.

I think what has happened is that some windows files have been deleted or corrupted. It's possible it's a driver file but since the problem also happens in safe mode I doubt it.

You could try repairing windows by using the OS disk.

i fixed the problem by scanning for viruses with spy sweeper but whenever i log off and back in with out switch user it background changes to virus detected and i cant change it (no risk cause on real virus on my pc) the only way to delete it is to go to something like hkey currentuse, micrsoft, windows current vesion policies and delete noScrSav and NoBackGro regestry files in regedit. it s easy and risk free but it is so annoying to do it everyday so any suggestions?p.s whats os disk
