Just because you’ve been arrested, doesn’t mean you can’t smile for the camera.
The wife of a politician in northwest Georgia seemed happy enough when posing for her mug shot last Friday after turning herself in for allegedly intentionally pouring a drink on a local journalist’s head Friday, Dec. 13.
Abbey Winters, who is married to Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters, allegedly dumped the drink over AllonGeorgia’s reporter Casie Bryant’s head before a public budget meeting that morning.
AllonGeorgia released video of the incident, but the camera wasn’t pointed at Winters and Bryant so only the sound of the alleged attack was captured.
According to the Summerville Police Department, witnesses said they overheard Winters say something along the lines of Bryant “deserved it.”
But they didn’t know what provoked the alleged attack.
Later, through her attorney, Winters said she had tripped and spilling the drink was an accident. Winters has been with charged with disorderly conduct and simply battery.
