British actress Dame Patricia Routledge has died aged 96.
Dame Patricia is best known for her hilarious portrayal of social-climbing snob Hyacinth Bucket ("pronounced 'Bouquet'") in British 90s sitcom Keeping Up Appearances . Hyacinth constantly tries to give the impression that she is of high social status despite her modest status.
Routledge was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2017 by Queen Elizabeth II for her services to the theatre and charity.
