Clean Air Day in Canada

Today is Clean Air Day in Canada.

I have serious concerns in relation to the environment, under the present Government of Canada. It has become quite obvious that The Honourable Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P., the Member for Edmonton—Spruce Grove and the Minister of the Environment, has no true strategy in relation to how to serve the environment in the best interests of Canada. Day after day, Ms. Ambrose stands in the House of Commons and blasts the strategies of the previous Government of Canada, citing the need for a "made-in-Canada solution", and day after day, the Minister refuses to inform the House, and the citizens of Canada, of what this strategy would happen to be.

Today, The Honourable John Godfrey, P.C., M.P., the Member for Don Valley West and the Environment Critic for Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, issued a statement in relation to his own concerns, and the concerns of Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition, in relation to the environment in Canada under the present Government. Mr. Godfrey highlighted his concerns that Canada signing onto the Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate, which has now been rejected by the Congress of the United States of America, would compromise Canada's efforts in relation to climate change.

Unless I am quite mistaken (and my apologies if this is indeed the case), I was under the impression that Congress had opted to cease funding to the AP6 from the United States, because the agreement had lacked any clear priorities or objectives.
