Okay. To get back on topic here, Carolyn Parrish is still rude and ignorant and an insult to Canadians in general.

...and I regard ALL Conservative MPs with the same cynicism...so up yers... :p

No one is stopping you from making mistakes, Vanni Fucci.

...and yet I can't seem to forgive or forget some peoples' stupidity, or pathetic attempts at usurping the reins of power...

God will forgive you, Vanni Fucci. Others, well, maybe not so much.

Careful, Vanni Fucci, God can be very vengeful too. Ask the Philistines....oh yeah, can't, they're gone.

Oh I'm quite certain there's no lightning bolt destined for my pretty head...God's got no game... 8)

He's a lame duck deity if I ever saw one...

Each to their own, I guess. I may not be very religious, but I figure it might be best to cover all my bases, just in case. Know what I mean? After all, what can it hurt? 8)

I think it's nice to see a politician with the guts to say what ordinary Canadians have always been saying. It takes GUTS to speak up against Bush when Paul Martin is busy being a whishy-washy wussy and pandering to him. It takes GUTS for a politican to say critize the leader of her party.

I agree with her whole-heartedly too. George W. Bush is a dangerous power-hungry maniac.

Couldn't agree more, Andy... :thumbleft:

Ah, a new version of Pascal's Wager. It can hurt you in the wallet, if you donate to any of the dozens of religious institutions who'll cheerfully take your money; you can waste a lot of time and energy trying to understand some church's message, time that would be better spent sitting in the yard and drinking beer; you could cover all the bases and still risk hellfire and damnation if you pick the wrong religion out of the thousands available. What if, for instance, the Jews are the ones who have it right? Or the Zoroastrians? Or Flip Wilson's Church of What's Happenin' Now?"

But none of that has anything to do with Ms. Parrish. Remember Ms. Parrish? This thread's about Ms. Parrish.

I think she's a gutsy lady who's just saying what a lot of people are thinking. So she called Americans by rude names? So what? Wanna talk about softwood lumber? Durum wheat? Pork? BSE? There are lots of reasons to think she's got it right, and lots of reasons to say rude things about American governments and lobby groups and special interests and unilateralism and stupid Chief Executives and leftover Reaganite war mongers and...well, pick your favourite poison, there's plenty to go around.

Don't get all pissy, the religion thing was a bit of humour.

I certainly do not disagree that one can be critical of any other country or leader, but there is a certain protocol to follow. Her rants were childish in nature, and totally immature. She acted like a spoiled child who no one has had the guts to say no to about anything, so she thinks it is her absolute right to say what she wants about anyone and anyplace. Be critical, be upset, but do it within the bounds of good taste and diplomacy,

All those things you mentioned may quite frankly have been due in part to Parrish and others ignorant and rude remarks. Anyone will respond negatively if they are rudely insulted on a regular basis, even you and Vanni Fucci. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, to quote an old, but applicable, proverb. Another one is "Act like you've been there before". The only place Parrish acted like she had been before was the gutter.
