While going through this week's batch of weekly flyers and comparing them with last week's version, I noticed that some stores dedicated a section of their front page to Canada Day. Some didn't. I also noticed in last week's flyers that some stores dedicated a section of thieir front page to the Separatist June 24th holiday. Some didn't. All the stores that advertised for Canada Day also advertised for the June 24th holiday as well. However, not all the stores that advertised for the June 24th holiday chose to advertise for Canada Day.

For example, stores line Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Reno Depot, Rona, Zellers, IGA (grocery), Metro (grocery) and Esposito (grocery)advertised for both holidays. Stores line Uniprix (pharmacy) and Maxi (grocery), didn't advertise for either holiday. On the other hand, some stores like Pharmaprix (pharmacy), Giant Tiger (grocery/retail), Super C (grocery), Provigo (grocery) and Wal Mart chose to advertise only for the separatist June 24th holiday. I guess the management of these establishments that advertised only for the June 24th holiday are likely separatist and have decided to cater only to their separatist clientele. This is fine as the rest of us can frequent many other places that do respect Canada Day. From a business standpoint though, this many not work out too well for those establishments that advertised only for the June 24th holiday.
