Can a Christian believe in evolution?

I'd like to know what you think about evolution and science and whether a Christian can believe in evolution?

Of course. People tend, especially fundamentalist protestants, to take everything in the Bible literally. They neglect to see that much of the 72 books of the Sacred Scriptures are metaphoric. It is not the point HOW God created the world, just that He did. In whatever fashion it was created, the important point is to keep in mind it was created by God. In fact, if you re-read the creation story in Genesis you might be surprised to realize how well it fits the evolutionary model of creation.
