Hundreds of Brits waved Union Jacks to welcome back to Portsmouth the Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group.

Aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales - the Royal Navy flagship - arrived back home alongside Royal Navy destroyer HMS Dauntless, gracefully floating past Portsmouth's famous Spinnaker Tower.

Helicopters welcomed the two powerful warships as they approached home.

The Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group sailed around the world for 7 months, showcasing to the world that Britannia still has a powerful navy and armed forces.

After so long at sea, the sailors were, of course, very happy to be reunited with their families.

Brits welcome Norwegian ship into Portsmouth

As the Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group arrived back in Portsmouth, the allied Norwegian Navy ship Roald Amundsen was also given a warm welcome into Portsmouth.

The Norwegian ship sailed alongside the British Carrier Strike Group around the world.

She was given a warm welcome by the British as she proudly sailed into Portsmouth Harbour.
