A study has found that the UK has more giant redwoods than their native USA.

Introduced 200 years ago into Britain the world's largest tree is under threat in the USA but is thriving in Britain's cooler climate.

There are 80,000 of the trees in California but half a million of them in Britain.

The UK may be "crowded" in the sense that it has 277 people per square kilometre officially: However, the UK's 68 million people live on just 9% of its land. 91% of the UK is empty of people: Countryside and wilderness.

So, contrary to the belief of Canadians, with a smaller population and a much bigger landmass, Britain is much like Canada is: just vast swathes of countryside and wilderness with no people.

Empathy…the bulk of Canada lives along the American border for all of intents & purposes…as close to the equator as we can. 😉

Well that's because almost nobody wants to live in the north of Canada: It's freezing bloody cold and depressing.

As a Brit it boggles my mind that Nunavut is 9 times bigger than my country yet has a population of 39,000, almost the same as that of Salisbury. To you it may seem normal but to a Brit it's as weird and mystifying as a black hole.

In my lifetime, I will probably visit Nunavat as many times as you will, and perhaps less.

Nunavat’s population is comparable to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Let that one sink in.
