Within arms reach of the new baby..
You know, it's really hard to increase your posts when you're the only one on the site. I suppose there are the standard excuses like it's Halloween, I'm out with the kids, I have to guard the candy against my dog, etc etc. But seriously, I actually had some free time, and I figured I could come on here and get over 700 posts, but it's proving a daunting task.

So, to ensure my sucess, I'm starting my own thread, to which I will reply, until I finally get rid of my ubergod status...which I'm assuming occurs at 700 posts. We shall see...

Keep posting 'till you get to 1000, that should do the trick. I am enjoying your thread, and would even participate except that I am in the middle of rewatcing a movie called, 'The 'Burbs' with Tom Hanks. I know I saw it when it came out, but it is totally unfamiliar to me. Will check in after it's over to see how you are faring with this Diamondathon.

At least I managed to entertain someone, because I sure wasn't entertaining myself.

My roommates were trying to convince me that I absolutely must watch a horror movie on Halloween. Sorry, but when you're sleeping alone, horror movies are not my style...

Well, if you have roomies then a scary movie would have been cool. What movie? I love scary movies but never get to see them because my husband doesn't like them. Neither does my daughter. And you can bet I am not going to watch one alone. What's your favourite one? Mine is still... well, whatever the name of it is, the one where Jack Nicholson says, "H-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-ere's JOHNNY!"

That's funny Haggis. We were just talking about that movie with Jack Nicholson, and that's the ONLY scene I remember from that movie.

As for what they wanted to watch..anything I think. I still haven't seen "The Ring" (and don't really want to), and they thought that would be a good one.

I personally don't like those scary movies unless I have a big strong man sitting next to me. Even "Signs" scared the crap out of me.

That just shows how out of touch I am, I thought 'The Ring' was one of the Tolkien sequels. Oops.

Oh, no!!!!!! That's one of the most annoying movies I've ever witnessed in my entire life... It starts off with a theme of a barking dog? Right? Please tell me it isn't so!

Not quite. At least, there were no hobbits in that version. :)

I like the Scream trilogy. Not to scary, with just the right amount of comic relief. Although, I couldn't watch them again...I'm getting super easily frightened in my old age.

Meanwhile, Diamond Sun, when you are complaining about being alone on the site, remember I have to overcome some serious timezones - meaning, when I'm on the forum in the morning, you're all sleeping. The number of times I've been alone ... *sigh* ... hey, shall we start a club or something?

Yes, but you should be used to it....being across the big pond. Me, it was a dramatic shock to come on here and have nobody else to talk to. Maybe I'll have to find out what time you're on so that I can stay up late (get up early) and keep you company.

Andem, 'The 'Burbs' was pretty bad, yes. We picked up a bunch of oldies that have been rereleased on DVD. It was one of those movies that is bad but not bad enough to turn off, if you know what I mean. I don't recall the barking dog theme at the beginning, but then I was chowing down on supper while the movie got started, so maybe I just missed it.

DS, I might have to check out 'The Ring', now that I know it doesn't have any of those annoying little hobbit bastards running around in it.

All Lord of Rings lovers: I did like the books, thirty years ago. The movies suck, though.

Oh, and Haggis, it's kinda strange to see your avatar of Bush with 'Holy Advisor' above it. Am I the only one who notices such things?

Well it sure does fit what he thinks he is, eh?
