Canada's border agency is pulling the plug on the controversial reality TV program Border Security after the federal privacy commissioner found the agency violated the rights of a construction worker filmed during a raid in Vancouver.

Well that's a shame. The odd time I watched it I really enjoyed seeing all those devious folks being caught at the border trying to get into our country with all their undeclared meat, veggies, dogs, money, booze - oh and drugs can't forget them - heck you name it and they tried to sneak it in.

Too bad. Very entertaining watching Texans getting all surprised that their bazookas are being confiscated.

"You ain't got open carry up here in Keyanada?"

yeah, I enjoyed the show, enjoyed watching so many stupid people, who think everyone else is stupid, trying
to come thru the border with all that dope, ha ha, loved seeing them get caught.

yeah, and the guns, remember the one where they had guns hidden in the stroller with the baby !!!!

and the far eastern returnees, bringing all that crappy food into Canada, what the heck do they want
to bring that here for, why don't they just buy it here, anyway they lose it at the border, good.

and all the people who think acting dumb will get them thru, sorry dumb dumbs, won't happen.

but it does let us know that many did get thru without being detained, but those dogs sure do
know what they are doing, and so do the officers, who get to know exactly what to look for, can
spot someone sweating and looking very nervous, usually for a reason.

the show was a good example for people to pay attention to, and learn something.

It really should continue for that reason, alone.

I have Shaw - hundreds of channels it seems, American, Canadian and British. I watch sports, news and PBS programs almost exclusively though I am looking forward to a new season of Murdoch Mysteries and the return of When Calls the Heart this summer.

So an illegal immigrant working illegally is filmed being busted then gives consent and an interview to a film crew but somehow his rights are violated? What about the rights of Canadian citizens to protect our borders and jobs.

The line in the article where his left-wing lawyers call him a hero is a joke. He's a f^cking criminal. And he didn't make a complaint just to feel better that he was heard. He was probably told by the lawyers it would get him to stay and get him a huge monetary settlement.

Settle down there Nick. It's a TV show. Canadians are still protecting our borders, maybe not our jobs but that's not the CBSA's mandate.

The cancellation was due to anyone being filmed then broadcast. I wouldn't want that to happen to me either.......

Don't be a criminal and you won't get filmed. They don't broadcast everyone....you have to sign a release. Lastly....he's a f^cking criminal and not a citizen, he gets some basic human rights and that's it. All other rights are reserved for law-abiding citizens.
