A movie in which Blackadder and chums are imprisoned in Colditz Castle during WWII may be on its way....

Rowan Atkinson starred as the intelligent, charming, witty, manipulative and sardonic Edmund Blackadder in the four series of the popular British historical comedy between 1983 and 1989 as well as several one-off specials
John Lloyd, who produced the popular 1980s period sitcom, has held talks with Rowan Atkinson - who played main character Edmund Blackadder - about reuniting the old cast members including Sir Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry, Rik Mayall and Hugh Laurie to create a 'Dad's Army'-style motion picture.
The pair have already discussed a detailed storyline, which will see the characters get kidnapped by a Nazi U-boat and end up in Colditz Castle prison camp.
John explained: ''Rowan and I had this great idea, because we are all getting a bit old, of doing a kind of 'Dad's Army' (which was a British sitcom between 1968 and 1977 about a platoon of the Home Guard during WWII). They are a platoon in Walmington-on-Sea (the fictional seaside resort where Dad's Army was set) where they get kidnapped by a German submarine and taken to Colditz. They then have to escape.
''Because Tony Robinson is probably very near 70 by now he would be just about the right age. We'd do it as a 'Blackadder' -- it would make a good movie, I think.''
Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder - the butler to the Prince Regent - and Sir Tony Robinson as Blackadder's dim-witted and disgusting servant Baldrick in Blackadder the Third (1987)
While there have been many 'Blackadder' spin-offs and special episodes, a movie would be the first of its kind and comedy insiders are excited to see the star-studded cast back together.
One told The Sun newspaper: ''With a cast including Sir Tony Robinson, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Miranda Richardson, Hugh Laurie, Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson, Robbie Coltrane, Tim McInnerny and Nigel Planer -- you can't go wrong.''
The original TV series aired between 1983 and 1989 and saw Rowan portray several generations of the titular character at various significant points in British history, during all of which Tony starred as several generations of Blackadder's dogsbody servant Baldrick.
