What I found particularly funny was this: "Last month, Mr. MacKay told the House: “We will not throw a member out of caucus for voting his conscience. There will be no whipping, flipping, hiring or firing on budget votes as we saw with the Liberal government.” ( Link )

But it wasn't the vote that got him kicked out. It was the signs of having an actual backbone that could no longer be tolerated so stop picking on MacKay. He's got enough problems as it is.

Perhaps a provision for eligible votes to run politicians out of the parliment buildings on a rail should be adopted and ruled as just within the law.
