People in general marvel at the rich with their gold, like Korah who was one of Moses people and he rebelled against Moses (because he found a gold mine and started to extract it and he became very rich, and started to be arrogant over the messenger of God)
So people who loved the World alluring and ornamentation .. they marveled and admired Korah, while the believers devoted themselves to God and His messenger Moses ..
The final good outcome was for Moses not for Korah.

God - be glorified - destroyed many nations of disbelievers, in spite of their civilization, marvelous buildings and architecture and prosperity .. because they were idolaters and they denied the messengers sent to them by God, and because they were wrong-doers and transgressors.

Another story of civilized nations whom God terminated, on account of their disbelief and denial of God's messenger ..
was
Pharaoh and his people: the most civilized country of his time with their much riches and luxurious living and prosperity, but they were wrong-doers and transgressors: they trespassed Moses people: the Children of Israel and Pharaoh started to kill every male boy and spare the daughters and increased his slavery and persecution so that the Children of Israel stay in his service and the service of his people.

Why God has not punished the nations of the disbelievers till now leaving them to enjoy their adulterous living and He gives them more and more .. so they have the misconception: why God does not punish us unless He in fact loves us!? And even some of them have increased more in the atheism in the name of freedom and the adultery in the name of love .. and they find themselves more prosperous.

So don't think that the USA and Tel Aviv are far from God's dealing, as had He dealt with the past wrong-doing people.
See also the last Trump's move of supporting Tel Aviv and saying that Jerusalem is the capital of the Zionists. Which is a very obvious wrong-doing, transgression and bias to the side of the Zionist (and in fact, Trump himself is a true Zionist from the start.)
Because the US cheated the Arab, when they claimed they would act as an arbiter and that they would fulfill the justice, while they in fact are biased to the side of the Zionists of Tel Aviv.
So this act of transgression is their responsibility before God Almighty: that is to help the transgressor against the wronged Palestinian people.
i.e. the American will have from God the bad outcome of their bias towards the wrong-doer to the disadvantage of the wronged Palestinian people.
In comparison: the obedience to Pharaoh of his people made them accepting and sharing with his wrong-doing, and therefore, they were punished together with Pharaoh.
