Great poem, absolutely great!!!
Are we a poetry forum now? Is there not a section for poetry? I didn't notice one if there is!
Yes there is a forum on CC for just such pieces, but as it relates to the finest sport on earth, this thread is just as deserving of that piece of gold.
Ever had a monster Brown Trout run out on ya, with a 6 or 4lb test leader?
Or a big Salmon(by Ontario River standards, lol, all the BC guys will think this a guppy)But a prouder Dad could not be found on the Ganaraska that day...
Then my youngest pulled one in the next morning...
Don't get me wrong ITN, but Salmon and Trout are harder on gear, lol. IMHO.
Best thing about fishing is that you appear to be doing something at least halfway constructive, so nobody's likely to ask you what you're thinking about or make you do something else. But in fact you're doing nothing.
I wasn't sure where you were going with this, until I read your follow up post, lol.
btw, isn't the whole of Sask, wilderness??? lol.
I spend a summer as a fighing guide on Great Bear Lake in the NWT, it was amazing to say the least. 50lbs Lake Trouts were quite common.
Wanna go fishing???
hahahahah eh1eh
u noticed that did u?
Ive never used fishing to get away from my wife, ive barely done any fishing but i do like it. Cheap and easy food source, and fresh fish is hard to come by unless u catch it yourself.
My neighbour ron goes ice-fishing. he claims to have caught upwards of 100 jackfish in one day. He gave us two and they were delicious
A 100 Jacksharks(if Jacksharks=Jackfish=Pike, as I think it does)isn't all that hard on some lakes, even in Ontario. Still, I used to throw them back until afriend of mine fillet'd one up for me, they are tasty. My Grandad used to lop off their heads and feed them to the dogs.
Yeah jackfish are good. kokanee are good. Dollies are good. brook trout are good. hell, I just love fish.
No wonder you and I get along!!!
Merely a matter of perception. Every two years I go on a fly-in fishing trip for four days to the wilderness of northern Saskatchewan with 7 friends. Next one's set up for next June. We're all middle-aged guys, and we do exactly what anyone would expect. We fish all day, sit around a campfire late into the night drinking and belching and farting and lying to each other and telling each other every foul and filthy joke ever invented in the history of civilization, and when our wives ask us on our return, "What did you guys do?" we all say, "Oh, nothing." What happens at camp stays at camp.
Phew, I was worried about my mental image of you for a minute, lol!!!
