Frankensteer is a disturbing documentary that reveals how the ordinary cow has been turned into an antibiotic-dependent, hormone-laced potential carrier of toxic bacteria, all in the name of cheaper food.

According to this compelling documentary, the beef industry, supported by North American government agencies and pharmaceutical companies, has engaged in an on-going experiment to create the perfect food machine.

Consumers are unaware of the dangers lurking in their beloved steaks, ribs and, especially, hamburgers.

Every year, fifty per cent of the total tonnage of antibiotics used in Canada ends up in livestock. Cattle raised in massive feedlots are routinely dosed with antibiotics even if they are not sick.

Recent changes in inspection rules have shifted the responsibility for food safety from government inspectors to the people on the floor who do the slaughtering and packing

I quit eating beef a year ago. Bacon with my eggs is the only meat I eat now... Esp the burger, it is full of bad stuff other than red meat!

Regulation is a joke, don't expect it to be true that if its on the shelf it is safe, thats old way.
Unless people drop dead right away from it, it will be sold.

Long term problems in our health will not be directly connected to the beef we eat, even if bowel disease and dementia become an epidemic due to the beef. [some say there allready is an epidemic of bowel disease in North America]

The chronic low-grade health problems are the toughest to connect to one thing, but with this beef we eat, problems like Parkinsons from the toxins, or chronic infections of all sorts[see Candida] from anti-biotic overuse, people might all have a "less than well" health scores from the beef we eat.

And of course, mad Cow is there. That one sneaks up on you 30 years later and makes you braindead. They know it comes from the cows, directly from this madness about increasing the production of beef cattle.

Feeding them chicken was not in God's dinner plans for the cows.I can see how dumb that was, farmers didn't and government didn't - why is that? Someone THEY listen to tells them it is safe and profitable , but that someone was given the task of infecting the population with a long term fatal brain disease. Now we are talking.

This higher up person was placed there by the Bilderberg or some Elite organisation who intends to dominate the globe. We see their actions all over, esp from the White House. Now, you don't expect THOSE White House guys to protect YOU , do you? No they are much more likely to give you Mad Cow disease... I truly believe this.

The higher up persons gets this credibility factor, the authority thing. Only people who are "successfull" give s authority so much weight. I don't give authority a nod, hell they have proven themselves to be untrustworthy enough times!!!

So if you want to succeed, listen to the boss

The higher up you want to go...yes, you become the most evil one.

well, if I'm not going to eat beef because of all the steriods and antibiotics, then I might as well not each chickens, pigs, turkeys, etc... Then, while I'm at it, I might as well not each vegetables because of all the pesticides they use. Same thing with fruit.

I might as well just starve. ;-)

If it's my time to go, then it's my time to go. I might as well enjoy it in the meantime.

You can get fully natural beef. No antibiotics, no questionable feed. You can usually have it butchered to your specifications too, so you get the cuts you want.

If you are concerned about this and buying off the shelf, Karlin, you'd do well to stay away from pig meat, btw. If you think the beef is bad, you should look into the way pigs are raised.

I suggest that everybody buy free-range meat that is locally butchered. If you buy it right from the farmer a whole animal at a time, it tends to be a little cheaper. If you buy it at a specialty shop it tends to cost a little more.

What gets me confused is that big chains like Superstore and Save On advertise "WILD" salmon... is it really wild? Or is it farm raised in the wild?

A word of advice...don't buy meat there. Ever. I learned that while cleaning bacteria out of their photofinishing machines.

the best way to tell if it's farmed is look at the width of the white bit. if it's quite thick it's farmed. if it's barely discernable it's wild. You can also tell by pushing at the meat with your finger. If the meat is really really soft it's farmed.

Better yet. Go to the fish market.

Sprog= child. I don't know where it came from. My dad use to call us kids sprogs.

The hubby is perusing a Werner Herzog Documentary about some one named Dieter who must fly. It's kind of boring.

Your welcome. Nobody should eat farmed salmon. Nobody should support ecological destruction.
