I thought they might let Montreal back in the game at the end but the B.C. defence came up big. I felt a bit sorry for Montreal's quarterback because B.C seemed to have his playbook. Anyway, they came back and made it semi respectable. It wasn't a bad game.

Kidd coming over the goal line to knock the ball out - he's an animal.

Montreal gave it a shot. BC is the best team this year.

Wally Buono can make some strange decisions. He scares me alittle. Dave Dickinson knows him well enough that he can voice an opinion in public, which he did after the game. He questioned a couple of things. One - why did he elect to kick off in the second half? Dickinson said it made no difference which end they played at because there was no wind. Two - using two quarterbacks took the offense out of rythym, even though Buck was on the field when Smart scored.

In the 2004 Grey Cup Buono elected to squib kick on all kickoffs, giving Toronto instant field position all game. He also didn't play the league MVP.

A few games back Buono elected to punt on first down in overtime. What should've been an automatic win turned into an overtime loss.

In any event, what he has done is put together a darn good football club. The way they handled the Al's blitzing was amazing, bringing in receivers at times to block in the middle of the line. Even Geroy Simon.

As I heard one commentator after the game say, Dickinson and the Lions went pretty conservative in the second half knowing that the way things were going the only way they'd lose would be to beat themselves. It didn't make for a spectacular game but it got the job done.

I laughed when I read the following headline on tsn, "Hundreds cheer Lions at Grey Cup rally"

Hundreds? If that was the Stanley Cup we would be talking about Tens of Thousands.

Don't hold your breathe for a Stanley Cup in Vancouver. In reality the number will be zero in perpetuity.

The CFL West will be interesting next year. The Eskimos just reload every now and then. Too much organization pride to be down for very long.

good games

just watched edmonton beat calgary, calgary actually outplayed them in the latter part of the game,

but that doesn't mean anything on the scoreboard.

What really surprised me was San Jose losing to Anaheim 5-0, and that game was quite evenly

played till the last period, felt sorry for san jose, they really didn't deserve that score.

And, rangers beat carolina 4-0, carolina looked outclassed, by the Rangers? oh my, what next.

who'd have thunk it.
