A reality TV star was killed Monday in a murder-suicide by a man she had been dating, police say.
The New York Daily News reports Valerie Dowden Wells, 47, died in the parking lot of a Shreveport, La. McDonald's after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Wells was one of the stars of the CMT reality show 'Bayou Billionaires,' which documented the Dowden family's rags-to-riches story after they discovered a large natural gas deposit on their property.
The Daily News reports Robert Gaddy, 46, shot Wells in her car at around 4 p.m. before shooting himself. He later died in hospital.
"This is really hard on us and her children. It is out of order," Wells' parents, Kitten and Gerald Dowden, wrote on a private Facebook page, according to KTBS TV. "No parents should have to go through this."
