The BBC's brand new, seven-part, historical drama Banished started last night.
With Russell Tovey as James Freeman; MyAnna Buring as Elizabeth Quinn; Julian Rhind-Tutt as Tommy Barrett; Joseph Millson as Major Robert Ross (who was the officer in charge of the First Fleet garrison of Royal Marines, and Lieutenant-Governor of the Convict settlement of Norfolk Island); and David Wenham as Captain Arthur Phillip (who was the 1st Governor of New South Wales).
Episode 1
It is 1788 in New South Wales, and dawn is breaking over the ramshackle camp where British convicts and their masters are waking up to another dangerous day.....
