At least 5 dead as British superyacht sinks off Italian coast

Five bodies have been found and one is still missing after a superyacht owned by a British billionaire sank off the coast of Italy in bad weather.

The five dead are differing nationalities. The body of the boat's chef had already been recovered, bringing the number of confirmed dead to six.

The missing is the British billionaire himself, his daughter and several others.

Lynch and his business partner Stephen Chamberlain, who died after being struck by a car the day the Bayesian sank, had been acquitted of fraud charges in a US court in June 2024. The charges were related to the sale of their company Autonomy to Hewlett Packard, which has said it will not drop its civil lawsuit for $4 billion in damages now being heard in a UK court.
