I've had Stellarium for a couple years now. It is a great program but seeing the real thing is more satisfying somehow. My son and a bunch of his friends got together on Sunday for a Messier night. They found thirty four Messier objects in spite of the crappy seeing.(cloudy) weather. All most all these objects are in the telescopes computer and can be called up any time the sky is clear.
I didn't make it over to the mainland because I picked up the last Winter cold that was going around.
