Here's an appetizer I love having on hand. A bit of brie in the fridge to warm up, and you look brilliant.

Sounds good Karrie

I will definitely try them. Here is a simple appetizer recipe that can be prepared ahead of time and served hot with very little trouble:
Quick sausage rolls
two dozen breakfast sausages
one recipe of ordinary pie crust
two tablespoons of vegetable oil

Place a couple dozen breakfast sausages and a cup of water in a frying pan with a tight fitting lid. Bring the water to a boil and simmer sausages covered for twenty minutes. Drain water and brown sausage in oil for five minutes. Drain and let cool. Roll out pie crust and cut into roughly 3 inch by 3 inch squares. Roll up each sausage in a square of pie crust with about a half inch overlap wet the pie crust under the join and place in a baking pan seam side down. From this point they could be kept in the fridge and cooked tomorrow. Cook in a 375 degree oven for about fifteen minutes or until nicely browned. Remove to serving dish, wait ten minutes and serve. They could be arranged in a circle with a small dish of chilli ketchup in the middle to dip in.....whatever...

It's a recipe I play with in various ways. For example, the nuts and seeds total 2 cups, so I just add what I have on hand. I like cranberry trail mix, with the almonds picked out. My sister did hers with dates and walnuts.

And instead of sesame seeds, I've used hemp hearts, and switched the ground flax out for ground almonds. That makes for much sweeter crackers. Yum.
