Sorry, I realise your in the fatherland, but why have you a picture of that chelski player?

I would have thought the germans wernt too happy about his sudden departure to the cash cow that is chelsea?....also, do you think Owen Hargreaves WILL leave bayern?

just changing to a random topic :D

Haha. Why Ballack? I used to be a fan of Bayern-München but things have changed. Ballack is a great football player but he's a real ass!

I was actually fixing the avatar upload system a few weeks ago, and this image was the perfect size.

I'm not sure BM would allow Hargreaves to get up an leave.. the team has a lot of money, so I don't think they are in such a bad position to keep players. We'll see.

RE: Andem - why Michael B

ohhh I dunno, do you remember Bayern playing against southampton FC in the "ted bates trophy" last year (or the year before)?.

I recall watching Hargreaves shooting down the wing with Ballack looking a VERY big threat throughout the game (which ended 1-1 as I recall), so I reckon if they could do with Ballack, they'd be fine without Owen.(shouldnt you be supporting Herta though? lol)

I was at a Hertha game last week and they won 4-0 vs. Hanover and I was cheering, but nah, more of a Bayern-München fan.

Maybe now that Ballack is gone to Chelsea, I won't have to look at his face on every McDonalds, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom, Coca-Cola, Adidas and various other commercials.

Anyways, I think Hargreaves has a contract with BM for the next 4 years.. and I don't think they'll sell him.

I'm not surprised Ballack as gone to Chelsea.

Now he has a bigger chance of winning trophies - and he probably gets paid more in England than in Germany.

Hargreaves knows where he wants to go. Does this mean he has already talked to the other team? Isn't that against the rules? What are Bayern Munich's options?

Owen Hargreaves is desperate to move to England but Bayen Munchen is certainly not playing ball.

to be honest, theyve got a player who clearly doesn't want to play for them, I'd off load if I was them...basically after the world cup his popularity in england went thru the roof (before we saw him as nothing more than the canadian blue-eyed boy of Sven Goran Errikson and didnt understand why he was in the squad at all).

I only watch Soccer when I can

I know nothing about the workings of the Soccer Association, FIFA or whatever. Would Bayen Munchen get any kind of compensation if he went to the British team? Or would Bayen Munchen have to agree to sell him?

RE: Andem - why Michael B

Well, I would presume they would, under aSOCCiation football rules, they have to be re-imbersed for the length of his contract, now if he has a four year one, it's gonna be a pretty penny, but in the end, I dont think it's completly watertight so it's problematic.

(sorry about this juan, he's never gonna go to a welsh scottish or irish team so it's gonna be an English team)

Hargreaves is still locked into a contract until 2010. I don't think Bayern-München will let him go.

RE: Andem - why Michael B

problem as I see it Andem is this, as a saints fan (you know, the team who produced Alan Shearer, Matt Le Tissier, Paul Gascoine, Alf Ramsay and more recently Theo Walcott) I can tell you we've HAD to let go a great number of players who are under long contracts if the player REALLY wants to go, of course we get re-imbursed but in the end if they wanna go, there is not much we can do.

This sort of thing bugs the hell out of me.

It happens all the time in the NHL. A player signs a contract for huge dollars over say five years. Two years down the road he wants to re-negotiate. In almost any other field than professional sports, a contract is a contract, and it should be honoured by both sides.

Yep, I agree Juan,

The last of our group of players at Southampton, Theo Walcott, had signed contract, but because he was under 18, we had to let him go for virtually nothing.
