This would be way worse if the vaccine wasn't rolled out among the high risk groups.
As it is, Alberta has had way fewer deaths than wave 2, and hospitalizations are lower than wave 2, and unless cases really skyrocket from here (which seems unlikely given current restrictions) they'll stay lower.
The only real concern has been ICU capacity but that now seems to have relatively levelled off too.
