I expect what Lord says is true, but it's less likely that Allaby was asking for a position, more likely his friends wanted him to get one.

After watching Tanker hedge his answers to the newsmen on TV,I doubt anything that came out of his mouth to be true...just another political opportunist who didn't get what he wanted.

Lord hasn't enjoyed "the support of the people" for a while....he's viewed as a guy who does as little as possible, and most of his economic announcements only benefit Moncton. If Shawn Graham was taken more seriously, Lord wouldn't be in power.
