4-year-old boy killed by tractor tire: Report

SOUTHGATE TOWNSHIP, Ont. -- Grey County OPP are investigating the death of a four-year-old boy on a rural property in Southgate Township.
Officers were called to a farm (on Hwy. 89) late Saturday morning to investigate a report that a farm tractor tire had fallen over pinning the boy.
The child was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination is scheduled for today in Hamilton.
The investigation is being conducted under the authority of the Coroner's Office, with the assistance of Grey County OPP and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, which is called in whenever the deceased is under the age of five.
The Farm Safety Board has also been notified.
