All this Bombers clinch is a bit much imo. Bombers backed in by the thinnest of margins to be polite. They will be hard to beat in the west but likely 3 time consecutive losers in the GC. Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa are all capable whichever team goes through.

I am a Lions fan this week.

Did I not suggest setting up snow making machines outside the stadium recently and then a miraculous gust of air appears in Montreal just as they were about to punt? Coincidence or not?

What do you say Tecumsehsbones ?

Argos -6.5 favorites. Riders -3.5 vs the Lions. Two teams seasons are over after today. Teams are healthy and weather is not too brutal.

Nice 3.5 payday for Ottawa in what should be a suckers bet. I took the Lions to win in Regina and think they can.

Believe players are paid for the game by the league and is around $3500 per player and escalates to $16,000 each for the Grey Cup winners. $8,000 to the losers. Meanwhile owners charge $500 for a ticket to the game so the expenses are covered and then some. It sucks but still doesn't take away from the play on the field.

CFL playoffs could be as Canadian as it gets for men.

I think a 20 point loss by the Redbacks probably took your money. I think you lost on BC too.

Was at the Argos game today. The Argos defence was off all day. It kept the game interesting for 3 quarters at least. The Toronto offence started slow but picked up later and started picked apart the Ottawa defence particularly in the second half. In my mind the game was decided near the end of the first half. The Redblacks had just got a TD to take a 23-27 lead with 6 seconds left in the half. They tried a short kick. Toronto recovered and booted a half ending FG and they went in with a 23-20 lead. But the momentum was Toronto's as they had the first possession in the second half.

Congratulations on the win. I'm guessing there were a few anxious moments early with Ottawa playing as well as they did. I didn't bite on the big odds and did not bet the game. I did lose my BC bet.

Lots of good play by the Argos. Lirim Hajrullahu nailled everything including his kickoffs. I haven't always liked Ryan Dinwiddie as a HC but do have to admit the O is his and he has it going well. Kind of weird how Kadeem Carey cracked off his three best runs when Nick Arbuckle came in but all good. The kickoff just before half wasn't meant as a short kick imo as it had a lot of leg in it but the player did an excellent job to stop the ball. Agree that it was a huge momentum play.

Best two teams left are the Argos and Alouettes.

Yes, it was in doubt until midway through the 3rd. Going in my son and I wee expecting a Kelly repeat performance from last year. Glad we were wrong.

I rewatched the TSN broadcast and saw that it was indeed. squib kick gone wrong. But I agree with the announcers assessment that the Argos approach to avoiding the return guys by doing a moonshot kickoff was a better approach. They also agreed it was the turning point of the game.

Our HC has his positives. One cannot argue with his results. But he has some annoying habits and decisions (none of which came into play yesterday).

Was at a watch party at BMO Field (indoors) for season ticket holders. Free food and drinks. Certainly a good game. Neither team played perfectly. Kelly is out for 6-9 months. Arbuckle came in and did the job to finish it off. Montreal DB who did the pass interference with 1 minute left is Argos player of the game.

Must have been a somber moment at the party when Chad Kelly went down. Memories of Joe Thiesman come to mind.

Big question is can Nick Arbuckle get it done. Argos have a good O line, receivers and running backs.

Technically if Zach Collaros goes down early Jake Dolegala is next man up so don't count the chickens before they hatch.

Yes. it was pretty silent.

I think he has as good a shot as Kelly. Last meeting in Winnipeg (about a month ago), Kelly was not a factor. All defence. Argos prevailed. Time before that in Toronto, Argos won in OT without Kelly (he was on suspension). I think the game is a tossup. I would not be surprised if the Argos won it for Kelly. But Winnipeg destroyed SK a team which had played them close this season too.

Personally, I hate Winnipeg and would cheer for anybody over them (with possible exception to Hamilton). The arrogance of Blue Bomber fans will become intolerable if they win. The only comfort is when all is said and done, they live in Winnipeg which is the definition of hell on earth so I do have that comfort.

I see Nick Arbuckle is 6'1" so a bit bigger than people may think and guaranteed this game will be the one he remembers for the rest of his life. I think playing in the dome will be an advantage for him. He's been a good possession type going to the open man but doesn't seem to get a lot of credit for his arm strength. He won't want to be throwing pick sixes. I'd love to see Toronto run the ball down the Bombers throats.

Still can't believe how Winnipeg connected on all those long bombs to Kenny Lawler against Sask. That game really came down to about 5 plays. Now we'll see if Corey Mace's replacements can do any better.

Not sure why they keep saying that if Winnipeg would have won the 2 Grey Cups they lost they could be going for their 5th straight championship.

If the Riders had won all the games they lost over the last 10 years and won every playoff game, they would be 10 time grey cup champions.
