Notorious child killer Paul Bernardo transferred to Quebec institution

What is the purpose of jails then? Obviously we should just stop putting people there and sentence everybody with sternly worded letters.

Notorious child killer Paul Bernardo transferred to Quebec institution

The emotional tramma of being in a cell for the rest of ones life is the price for ending another person's life deliberately. That person has no more rights. The do support them having the right to terminate their life. I just feel the risk of finding out that someone is innocent after they have...

Notorious child killer Paul Bernardo transferred to Quebec institution

I don't support the death penalty. I think the punishment for first degree murder should be life in prison. But that life should be in a cell with some basic food thrown at you 2-3 times a day. Nothing else. He forfeited his rights to a normal life when he did those non-human acts on those girls.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

My basic understanding of the pro-live position is that they feel that abortion is being used as a form of birth control and killing unborn children. So the law would protect these unborn babies. Just not this baby. This is the problem when you remove the exceptions from the law and that is all...

    Oppenheimer.

I heard it was a story about some WWII guy figuring out a way to nuke Barbie or something.

    NS Floods

I assume at least the fires are now out. I think they said 300mm of rain in 1 day which is 1 foot. That is insane.

Would you pay to use your heated seats?

I would not pay for anything that is not currently a subscription service as a subscription service. If it was made subscription, not only would I not pay for it but I would want it removed from the vehicle or at least the options I am paying for in the sticker price.

    Rapporteur David Johnson, Eminent Canadian

Nothing to do with politics but through some lackey under the bus, maybe people will forget about the big lackey.

    Homeless Tent Cities in Canada

We are in an apartment we have been renting since 2000. The rent is controlled. If we were to move our rent would double plus we would need to pay utilities. I don't know how people can afford any of it.

    Homeless Tent Cities in Canada

I was always told that home was not the building but the spirit. So if you are living in a tent, is that not 'home'? Even if the home is a building, a tent is a building. Therefore, are you then no longer homeless? You may be landless but not homeless.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

That's the beauty of this. They bought the LGTBTQ vote without actually doing anything meaningful.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

    Depends on the province.

    Roe v. Wade overturned?

In some Canadian provinces, the answer is no. That would not be covered by the provincial health plan. It would be elective and paid for by the patient or private insurance. I am not saying I agree with this position but that is a line drawn by the government every day as to what is and what...

Immigrants sent to Mass. from Florida, on taxpayer dime

Do they get a choice of where they go? If so, perhaps it's time to stop giving them that choice and send some to the city that rhymes with fun instead of Toronto.

    2023-24 Manitoba Bisons Hockey

The only evidence we ever see of hockey over there is Germany's occasional involvement in the World Juniors, Olympics and/or other international tournaments.

    2023-24 Manitoba Bisons Hockey

Yes. there is a site which lists them on AHL.com but that is currently down (404). Some AHL teams dropped their affiliations so no doubt the programmer has not fixed the site yet. My son and I do season tickets to the Toronto Marlies (the Leafs AHL team). Difference between them and the Leafs...
