    Canadian Flag Turns 50

I am old enough to remember all the controversy surrounding replacement of the red ensign by a uniquely Canadian emblem for our national flag. I can remember some people saying that the new flag looked more like a beer can label. Then PM Lester B Pearson had favored a design that featured...

    Hostages

I was just listening to American journalist Austin Tice's parents being interviewed on CNN as they decried the US government for it's inability to rescue their son. Though I sympathize with the parents, I find I have little sympathy for anyone who would knowingly put themselves in harm's way -...

Wolf et al - the modern form of chicken little. LOL! I'm not a violent person, Nug...........but there are times when I listen to a reporter ask such questions that were I there, I would gladly smack them upside the head.

Northeast Corridor braces for 'potentially historic' snowstorm

Watching CNN's coverage of the 'historic' storm. NY going into lock-down at 11 PM - no cars on street save for emergency vehicles and the like. Listening to the reporters, one gets the idea they are almost gleeful having such a great story to cover.
