that's how I do it each year too, I wait about 3 weeks after all others have been vaccinated, then I show up for the 'last' free clinic for seniors, has worked like a hot damn for me for years, and haven't noticed anyone dieing from any vaccines in this area at all. haven't had the flu since my...

    Yorkshire Pudding

I dined at my 'future husbands home for many years before we were married, all through my teens. Italian house, and a clone of archie bunker for a dad, and when he found out I was british, he constantly talked about how horrible the british cooking was, and they didn't know how to cook anything...

    How about eggs?

That's right, we use yogurt with our breakfast every morning, on our oatmeal, with granola, ground flax & sesame seeds, mashed banana, a couple of walnuts, and a drizzle of maple syrup over the top. I use yogurt in place of whipping cream in many cases as well, but there are times when you can't...

    How about eggs?

After all of these years gone by, I have stopped making devilled egg sandwitches, I now cook a batch of scrambled eggs, not the true scrambelled egg, but ones which you scramble in the pan while they are cooking. I use grape seed oil, and margarine to cook eggs, and add chopped green onion while...

The best beef roast and how to cook it

The prices have gone up so much it is scary. I'm not buying roasts any more, they are too expensive. I will buy a cheaper cut, and pot roast it, I know it isn't quite the same, but the tenderness can't be beat. I looked at the price of a standing rib roast the other day, and it was $65.00, and...

    Dessert Recipes

I'm going to make that lemon meringue pie this week end, my son in law is coming for dinner, and it is his favourite, (not that I don't like it.):-? Made Tapioca Pudding again tonight. I just put cooked, cooled tapioca in large dessert bowls, with stems, they look so nice when all filled up...

    Chicken Recipes

My italian mother-in-law, raised in Rome, made chicken cacciatore, and it was pretty simple, but the key was the wonderful homemade italian speghetti sauce, that was put into the chicken just before you put the lid on it. Just use the 'liquid' from the sauce, and it has a beautiful flavour, and...

    Chicken Recipes

I also, sometimes add a little homemade spaghetti sauce to the chicken before putting the lid on it, along with a little white wine, for chicken caccatore, and with the rosemary added, and a 'little' butter, the flavour is wonderful, and the chicken just pull apart easily with a fork.

    Chicken Recipes

you're absolutely right juan. Chicken breast, 'when cooked properly' are moist and tender and delicious. I am cooking them as we speak, similar to your recipe. Browned onions and mushrooms in pan, moved aside, and added dredged chicken, (in italian seasonings and fresh rosemary,) browned them in...

    Pot Luck blues...

The only thing I will eat from a moose is ground meat, which I can mix with lots of 'things' to make the flavour better, and the only thing I will eat from a deer is the liver, it's delicious, but I can't stand any other part. I love beef, I like pork, and some fish, but not much, halibut, a bit...

The best beef roast and how to cook it

I don't cook a roast very often, but if I do, it's usually a small 'sirloin tip'. I don't do much to it at all, put it in an open small roaster, a little salt and pepper, no msg, won't eat it. A little garlic, cook till medium done. Makes nice gravy, (but we don't eat gravy much at all anymore...

    The garden

It's garden time, and 'again' I'm starting some early planting. This year I have started my 'corn' indoors in those little peat pots, as, last two years I have had lots of trouble getting corn to grow properly. Some didn't come up at all, and others came out of ground, grew about 3 inches...

    Pancakes for breakfast....or whatever

The swedish pancakes are similar to crepes, can be made quite thin, and I love the lemon juice-sugar topping, of course over butter.
