Hearts are on the brink of winning their first Scottish league title since 1960 tomorrow.

The Edinburgh club just need at least a draw against Scottish champions Celtic to win their first league title since 1960.

If Hearts achieve their goal of becoming Scottish champions, they will be the first Scottish football club outside of Glasgow to win the Scottish league title since Aberdeen in 1985. That Aberdeen side was managed by the great Sir Alex Ferguson, who went on the win tons of trophies with Manchester United between 1986 and 2013.

Ever since 1985, that honour has gone to either of the two Glasgow giants: Celtic (a Catholic club) or Rangers (a Protestant club).

Hearts - famous for their maroon home shirts - sit top of the table with a narrow lead over Celtic with Rangers in third.

There is at least one Hearts fan travelling from Bournemouth on England's South Coast to Celtic Park in Glasgow to watch the game: Almost travelling from one end of the country to the other end.

Breaking News: Agony for Hearts as Celtic beat them 3-1 to win yet another Scottish league title

They haven't done it! The Scottish league title remains in Glasgow

Edinburgh club Hearts were on the verge of winning their first title since 1960 and become the first club other than Celtic or Rangers to win the title since 1985, but Celtic win it once again

Jubilant Celtic fans invade the Parkhead pitch as the Glasgow club win the league title for a record 56th time

Celtic break Hearts

Celtic 3-1 Hearts

Amazing scenes as jubilant Celtic fans invade the pitch towards the end of the match against Edinburgh side Hearts as they win a record 56th league title and deny Hearts their first league title since 1960.

Hearts needed just a draw but lost.

The league title remains in Glasgow where it has been held by either Celtic or Rangers since 1986.

My brother was probably there. He lives in an apartment overlooking Parkhead and watches Celtic home games. Our Rangers fan grandfather will be turning in his grave.
