The heir to the British throne Prince William, 43, has toured one of the world's most powerful computers.

He met Isambard-AI at the University of Bristol.

Isambard - named after the great 19th Century British engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel - is capable of 21 quintillion operations per second. It can process data in one second that would take the global population 80 years to complete.

It is the 11th most powerful computer on Earth.

40 years ago my office computer required two discs just to get it up and running. Only had enough power to play ping. Adding pong would tax it. Now, there are light switches with more computing power.

My knowledge is out of date, but 30-some years ago the single most powerful computer was in the basement of the National Security Agency in Maryland.

I think they played "Pong" on it.

After a bit of Googling, according to Moore's Law computers become twice as fast every 18 months or so.
