30 Totally Unneccessary Ridiculous Kitchen Gadgets

I have seen a lot of people making a LOT of money, making hot miniature Donuts at Fairs, etc. To each their own, those things sell, because some people want them in their homes.

Putting some domestic gadgets to the test

I have a meat grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer. It works fine, and I make my own sausage and the sausage tube. But, my almost 80 year old manual meat grinder works just as well, and it is even better at stuffing sausage into casings. It has 4 different size tubes, so you can make...

Unusual eats: Would you eat this?

Why the heck not? They are protein, and all of those "bugs" are regularly eaten by humans (and other animals).

    Butter is back

I use butter in both cooking and baking. Sometimes there is simply no substitute. There is no harm in using either butter or margarine, so long as you do not use it to excess. All things in moderation is the way to go.

Electric Cars Have Twice the ‘Global Warming Potential’ of Traditional Vehicles

Let's just go back to a hunter-gatherer society. Most of the European based cultures will die out, and the Africans and poor Asians will inherit the world. Then in a few centuries, they will mess it up as badly as the rest of us have.

Still have lots of turkey left?

Try Broccoli with Mayonaise. I have NEVER gotten tired of eating roast Turkey. There are so many ways you can fix it. But nothing is better that a Turkey sandwich, no matter how you make it! Last year, we had a wild Turkey (No, not the liquid type). Very, very different from the farm...

    breastaraunt boom

Nobody forces any woman to work at those places. If they hire in, they know what the uniform is, so there is no reason for complaint.

    The world's 10 best sandwiches

I vividly remember going out the first time after being assigned to Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. I had never lived in the Eastern part of the US, and had never heard of a Philly Cheesesteak. There was a small deli/sandwich shop across the highway from the...

Is the United States Actually Getting Warmer?

People forget why Greenland was called "Greenland". It was called that because along it's southern coastal area, it was incredibly fertile, and was more than suitable for farming. That's why the Vikings colonized it, because it was superior to much of the available land in Norway and Sweden...

    Space Expoloration COULD be Easy

In 1947, Robert A. Heinlein published a novel called, "Rocket Ship Gallileo". In that book, he essentially described an Ion Drive, which would allow fantastic speeds in space. It would start out very slow, but could easily double its speed every time period (depending on the strength, the time...

    Ten Extremely Misunderstood British Foods

Head Cheese is delicious! I had it in the States as a kid, in Germany (fresh made on farms, and in restaurants), in Holland, in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe. I never saw it in Great Britain though.

    Why are Passports so Expensive?

A passport from Canada costs $85 or more from the US or Bermuda, for a document that is only good for 5 years. This cost is way out of line, compared to other countries. Can anyone explain just WHY the fees are so high?

Why would anyone trust the Liberals, the NDP or the Bloc?

I can't help but wonder why anyone would ever trust the Liberals, the Bloc, or even the NDP after what they all attempted to pull in their repeated attempts to bring down the elected government of Canada. The Bloc essentially stood for an independent Quebec, and in the interim, they were...

ghost train hunter run over by actual train

That's what happens when stupid people ignore safety. The persons killed deserved what happened to them. They worked hard to put themselves in that situation, and they are 100% at fault for what happened. The engineer of that train should sue the families of every person involved, for his...
