So. . . the "dork" is right? That's pretty much what you're saying before you launch the whataboutery.

Sounds kinda like. . . Joe Biden.

And you sound like the liberals who cursed Richard Cheney and G.W. Bush for being "draft dodgers" whilst cheering Bill Clinton.

Meh, not even sure why I'm surprised. Maybe because I had thought better of you.

The latest Leger poll for Postmedia shows Poilievre’s Conservatives well ahead with 43% voter support compared to 25% for the Liberals and 16% for the NDP.

Now, diehard Liberals will likely grasp at paper straws in pointing out that this poll has their party up by four points while the Conservatives are down four points compared to the last Leger survey two weeks ago.

That’s true but this is all within the margin of error and puts both parties back where they had been in previous Leger polls over the past several months. It’s still an 18-point lead for Poilievre and his team and if we had an election today, the Conservatives would still win a massive majority.

Au contraire, tete de merde!

I don't think much of Trump. Doesn't change the fact that I'm pleased to live in a country where there was no way to keep him off the ballot. And pleased to live in a country whose governmental systems are sufficiently interlocked, with broad horizontal and vertical dispersal of power, that even the President can do very little alone.

Hardly the first guy I voted against who won. Ain't suffered from it much.
This is true. And very important. People tend to for get that even with all the flaws in our systems, there are currently none better, and many that are far worse.

CBC…gotta love their bias.

Who…who would have a mandate of the majority of Canadians to deal with Trump & Tariffs on behalf of Canada & Canadians?

Yeah….CBC, that was a totally relevant question to ask if the guy who (if an election was to be held this afternoon) would (by seat count in Parliament) represent the opinions of by far the majority of Canadians, to step aside to the guy who (depending on the guy we’re talking about) is either the lame duck that’s already announced his intention to resign without actually resigning…or the guy just waiting for his coronation without ever holding an elected office…ever…to become our Prime Minister without an election, who would (by seat count) represent less than 1 in 5 people in Canada.

It’s CBC, fishing to see if they’re gonna have jobs next year. Most of them won’t “unless”….a federal election doesn’t happen in Canada this year.

If either Carney comes in as the unelected Prime Minister, or Trudeau doesn’t leave regardless of his commitment towards an intention towards resigning…due to a “Trade Emergency” and one or the other using this excuse, postpones the election until sometime into 2026 (maybe the fall of 2026?)…well…don’t think it can’t happen. The Liberals have enacted the Emergencies Act (& the War Measures Act before that) for less.

This Emergency might just get a whole slew of Liberal & NDP MP’s pensions that otherwise wouldn’t get them, so don’t expect the NDP to not back the Liberals like they have done consistently for the last 30+ months…for at least the next year or more.

Ontario is down 10 seats from a couple weeks ago.
