Okay... really? Why is what Trudeau does so important to the effing right?

Who cares?!

He saw a movie with his kid. So have millions of other parents, who have posted about it.

JFC... this to me shows that it's only the right that gives this much of a shit about Trudeau 24-7.

Again, who the hell cares.

Move on with your lives.

Trudeau government thinks rising crime is all in your head
Statistics Canada shows rising crime rates even as Trudeau government denies reality

Is crime up or do you just think that it’s up while in reality, things are getting better?

If you’re Justin Trudeau’s new justice minister and attorney general, people just think crime is getting worse even though government statistics actually show crime is worse than it’s been in years.

“I think that empirically it’s unlikely,” Arif Virani told Reuters last week in an interview when asked about Canada being less safe than it was before.

“But I think there’s a sense coming out of the pandemic that people’s safety is more in jeopardy.”

Interesting viewpoint from the new justice minister. If only he had looked at the latest report from Statistics Canada or at the stats reported by the Toronto Police Service, the good folks who patrol the streets of the Parkdale-High Park riding he represents.

On July 27, the day after the cabinet shuffle and five days before Virani gave the interview, Statistics Canada released some disturbing statistics. The overall crime severity index was up 4.3% from 2021 to 2022 while the violent crime severity index was up 4.6% compared to the year earlier.

That’s not people having a sense they are in more jeopardy, that’s a significant increase. StatsCan says violent crime is the worst it’s been since 2007.

Further, the increase in crime since the Trudeau Liberals took office in 2015, the year Virani was first elected, is dramatic. The violent crime severity index has gone up by 30% across the country since the Trudeau Liberals took office and adopted a soft-on-crime approach.

That’s not conjecture, it’s not partisan talking points, it’s Statistics Canada, the official record keeper of the Government of Canada.

In Toronto, the city Virani represents, the local police department offers up some of the best crime stats in the country and they don’t support his view that people perceive crime going up when it’s not. In fact, according to their Major Crime Indicator dashboard, major crime is up in 2023 by more than 20% compared to the same time last year and 2022 was a record year.

There are more auto thefts, up 38.4% over last year; more assaults, up 17.3%; more break and enter, up 15.8%; and more sexual violations, up 11.99%, while the only major crime that is down is murder. But to Virani, who represents a riding that is hard scrabble – Parkdale – and affluent – High Park – he believes it is the perception that things are getting worse even as all government data indicates that crime, especially violent crime, is getting significantly worse.

Toronto Police Service data shows that in the south Parkdale area of Toronto, where Virani’s constituency office is located, general crime is among the worst in the city. In the more affluent areas where Virani takes the majority of the vote, crime is much more in line with his view of the world, it’s theoretical rather than reality.

It doesn’t bode well for the country that the new minister of justice doesn’t believes crime isn’t rising when it is, especially in his own riding. Because despite all media narratives to the contrary, Toronto is bad, but it is far from the worst for crime in Canada.

Where you live might be much worse.

Toronto’s crime severity index stood at 51.9 compared to the national average of 78.1, both of which were well below the 128 value assigned to Kelowna or the 119 assigned to Lethbridge. In fact, there are many smaller cities across Canada where the crime index, or crime per capita, is much higher than Toronto.

Sadly, it seems we have a justice minister who doesn’t recognize the increase in crime in his own neighbourhood, in his own city or recognize how much worse things are outside of Toronto. If we are going to successfully deal with crime, we need a justice minister who sees things as they are, not how he wishes they were.

It doesn’t appear we have that with Arif Virani.

And the right hates gays.
Why? Hate is absolute.

How the hell were gays normalized in society years ago if there is an overabundance of hate?

Nobody cares about gays any longer. Being male, gays know how the male world works. Its the few who outright reject the fact they're male and act out that dont fit in.

The lisp and hand thing is a learned behavior and role play. That shit makes the more masculine, sober gays cringe just as much as it does any other man or woman who doesnt care for that frequency of pink in the rainbow connection.

If you want to feel relevant go down to the retirement home and play a few rounds of cribbage with Madonna. She probably needs the attention too.
