That's not what I said, but it's partially right. If countries keep their noses out of other countries business, don't want to exploit other countries resources, don't want to convert other countries populations to some religion, political bent or other, then yes they are civilised.

Aren't they just a radical form of the same religion. They seem be be living in the rules that have been in existence since Abraham. Death by stoning goes as far back as the caves when an injured ankle would get you stoned rather than you slow down 'escape speed of the rest of the group', that is how piling stones on top is supposed to protect you. What they don't tell you is the rocks start coming as soon as you take a break because of a sprained ankle, they keep throwing until there is a pile), that is kinder than letting them get caught and eaten while alive.
As out of the times as a Christian may find that to be it is no worse than a non-Christ believing Israeli's that follows OT Law and traditions .

If the US was capable of creating a society like Kuwait, where the poorest is now ultra-rich, and there are no revolts then why not use that method in all other places they go? The only answer that data would support is that the US makes a lot of money in war related products. Much of their internal money flow is tied to the design and building and selling of ever increasingly costly machines of war. Putting that at rest would tank the economy, unless that same amount of money (just raid the world banks and everybody has lots of money)goes into development that actually benefits somebody for a long time, high startup costs and then very little needed to keep it running.

The US broke Afghanistan when they interfered because they chose the USSR to be their supplier of modern goods. Cheaper, better service after installation cause they live right next door. The US just had to mess that up so how do some posters get to say they are the backward ones when it is the West that is in the wrong.

Sometimes keeping two children apart is the best thing for both of them (health and welfare wise). Putting both into a cage and throwing in one bat is both cruel (in that it is also locked ) and stupid (thinking it would result in the better health and welfare of both children).
