Report: CIA Invited Bomber to Afghan Base

As the CIA continues to reel from the single worst attack on the organization in over 25 years, the question of how the attack managed to sneak onto a highly guarded military base and hit a CIA building so secretive that even military spokesmen were referring to it initially as a “gym” may be answered.

According to former US officials, the CIA actually invited the bomber to the base, and had been courting him for quite some time as an informant. The attack, it seems, came when they attempted to search him.

The CIA would not confirm the details of the incident, saying they were still gathering evidence. Still, this would explain how officials were able to so quickly point the finger at the Haqqani network as behind the attack.

President Obama offered condolences and praised the CIA employees (conflicting reports have either seven or eight killed in the attack) as brave American patriots who made a great sacrifice for the American way of life.

Preach? You're the moron singing praise unto Allah because some CIA people were murdered. Nobody praised up God or Buddha about a drug smuggler - whether he was "mentally ill" (what a cop-out) or not.

The CIA has smuggled drugs among many numerous illegal activities.

The CIA supplied the terrorist with up to date rockets when the old Soviet Union was in Afghanistan because of the Cold War American policy so the terrorist knows how the CIA operate.

It is really sad that Americans died but they all knew it when they worked in a war zone.

Unfortunately a catastrophic chain of events took place, which started with a soldier who did not do the job as it was supposed to be done and along the chain of events the other soldiers assumed that the previous soldiers did their jobs and did not challenge anybody.

Safety is important but because of the stress and the fatigue that soldiers suffer in a war zone details are sometimes overlooked which sometimes leads to massacres.

He was a drug smuggler. Also should have known the rules. IF you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Americans have died. Canadians have died. Afghans and Brits and others
have died in this "Operation Whatever It's Called" in Afghanistan....

War is a dirty thing....and this is a War that we're participating in, whether it
has been declared as such or not. The Taliban will claim responsibility for
anything they think will further their cause, whether they're involved or not.
The Coalition Forces will also add their own spin, as War is as much a
physiological effort as it is physical. It's Nasty, and news of any deaths
is never a good thing.

Yep...& that's only on one side (the Coalition Forces side) of this conflict.

The other side (I'm assuming) will have casualties from at least as many
countries too, from throughout the Moslem world, and that's pretty much
the Globe. Omar Khadr had relatives (from his household in Canada)
that where injured or killed in Afghanistan fighting against the Coalition
Forces......so Canada (& many other countries) is/are represented there
on both sides of this conflict.

Sweden had an Empire which included much of northern Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Swedes invaded Norway in 1814, in their last all-out national imperialist war. They forced Norway to give up newly-won independence.

The Swedes fought with UN forces in the Congo between 1960 and 1965.
