How American Social Security was stolen.

Guess what folks, it wasn't Bush. The Democrats stole our Social Security. Why some may say? Because there was so much money in it that it would never run out. Guess what we are almost broke. Find me any senator or president today that would acknowledge the damage they did.

Ironsides, didn’t Bush want to give Americans the option to invest part of their Social Security money in the stock market? If Congress had gone along, most people would have taken their Social Security money out of the plan and invested in the market just before the meltdown.

Many people would have lost their Social Security money in the stock market. If that had happened, Social Security would really have gone bankrupt. So the fact that Congress did not go along with Bush itself tells us that Congress did something to save Social Security.

Ironsides, an obscure blog from Idaho, especially one which seems to be written by a Republican, is hardly a credible source on Social security.

I'm glad the Bush plan was rejected. If congress had not stolen 2.2 Trillion dollars from it over the years, it would be solvent toady. By moving that money into the General Fund it was spent on what ever they wanted without anyone's approval. Congress did nothing to save Social Security. Unless someone had a crystal ball, no one knew the meltdown was coming. That plan to have us invest part of our income was just a feeble effort to try and hide what they Congress had done over the years. Luckily it never came to a vote.

Most of us won't see our social security any how.

I wonder why Congress made themselves exempt from contributing to social security?

Probably the same reason why Congress wants to make members of congress exempt from any new Health Care reform. It is good enough for everyone but themselves. Hypocrits.

What does it matter who says it. A fact is a fact, history is history. Yes, in this case he is a Republican questioning what illegally went on. So what. There is no perspective here. You don't care about the truth, "you can't handle the truth".
